Guide Appreciation

There are many sources of information available online which will help newer and older players understand various aspects of Eve.  Some information is sorely outdated, some is current but assumes you have a basic knowledge of what they're talking about to begin with.  Guides are written for various reasons and the format it takes could be the best approach available.  I find it very interesting that some of these types of guides can be massive projects like ISK the Guide while others are just a quick jaunt into the explained game mechanic.

After using a lot of these guides myself and seeing how useful they have proven to my own Eve experience, I decided to try and do my own guide about a few things I think I know something about.  While that is probably debatable, I figured I'd give it a shot.  But because Eve has so many things which tie into each other, I'm noticing that I will have to go through when I'm finished and edit out all those aspects I explained which don't directly relate to what I am writing a guide on and I will either have to write a guide on those too, or point to a location which will explain those principles.

The guide I am working on is from a basic new player perspective and what you will need to do to accomplish a certain goal.  Since I've played Eve for over a year now, I'll start writing something and realize that a new person may not understand that concept.

So I have a bit more appreciation for the people who do take time to write guides and how-to's.  Because of the effort it takes, I am understanding further why some either skim or hardly mention other very important areas which can be vital to understanding their explanation.  A lot of work and research goes into these explanations and time can play a serious role in how much detail they can put in.

I thought it would be good to say thanks to all those who have written guides at some point in time of their Eve career, I'm sure I have not been the only one to find a guide to be a saving grace in understanding something which was vaguely explained in game.

It needs some updates as the loot spew has been removed, but it's mostly in good condition.
